We were amazed at the huge waterfront sites. There were quite a few waterfront sites, and off the water sites were nice too. There are lots of trees and a picture postcard view that is unbelievable. It looks like a lake, but it is actually the backwaters of a river. There is canoeing on the river, with two canoe liveries on two different rivers in the area, so we did go canoeing while we were here through some very wild and beautiful areas. There is a small camp store, fish cleaning stations, and beautiful areas for bike riding and paved roads. Also a small camp store. There are NO organized activities and NO recreation/game room for rain days. Nice big fire rings. Swimming area is a little rocky, but not full of plants and yukky stuff. There is also a Rustic campgound that we did not check out.

We stayed in the family section for their Haunted Halloween weekend and we loved it. The trick or treating had very sparse participation but the kids with us were really teens anyway so they were not too disappointed. It was fall, and we had almost the entire park to ourselves. We had a wonderful site backed up to some woods and made a roaring fire and made a few snacks, but we opted for the all-you-can eat buffet. We LOVED the food and we had quite a variety of things to choose from. I ate a lot more than usual as we paid for 3 meals a day and it seemed like everytime we turned around it was time to eat again. There were some wildwest shows which were just ok, but I liked the horseback riding as I am a chicken and don't know how, but they found a suitable horse for me to ride...really walk as that was my skill level. The funniest part for me was the halloween activities. We saw a Halloween dinner theatre, and their was a Haunted hay ride that was great along with a spookhouse. If the weather is not too cold, this is a great place to get some last minute camping reservations for the Halloween weekends. We probably should of brought bikes, but didn't. Don't know if it is fun for summer time, but was real fun for the Halloween weekend IF the weather is nice so you can enjoy all the activities. We went with two adults and two teens and loved it. Only thing we did not like was the dogs for sledding did not seem to have adequate shade and care for my taste. I am a dog lover. We paid for all the activities and food in one price so I can't really give a nightly rate but it is pricey...for a splurge.
